1. You take a lot on your plate (much more than what's required).
Because you want to try everything you are interested in at least once in your lifetime but doing all at once can and will never make sense. Yes it sounds very cool when you can flaunt about the number of things that keep you busy throughout the week but there's no way you can excel at anything if you can't devote yourself to one thing at a time.
2. You haven't failed enough in life, you've always had the easy way out.
Until and unless you pull yourself out of a few failures in life, your life is incomplete and you're always a step away from becoming a successful human being. You feel comfortable in your mediocrity because you are too scared to learn things the hard way. You are scared to face failures but you don't think about the sense of satisfaction that you get if you take the road not taken.
3. You think you're smarter than what you are.
Because you got a degree in the subject you liked and a job that pays you well means you are smart enough, according to you. There's no end to how much you can learn in one lifetime but as soon as you bag a job, you bid goodbye to all that knowledge because you feel SMART and sometimes, smartest in the crowd.
4. Caring a little too much about what others think about you and caring little about what YOU should be doing with your life.
Because you have honed your mind to work according to what attracts the crowd. Instead of spending time embracing your real self, you spend time in buying new clothes, shoes and bags to keep people around you happy. When has THIS helped anyone ever?
5. Because you believe in every piece of news that comes your way and you refuse to investigate it further.
You often forget that "brain" is a machine that works better if you use it more every day. It's not about being Mr. "know-it-all" all the time, it's also about keeping your mind open for debates and arguments. What if every bit of knowledge that you've stored in your mind is all a waste because you never tried asking "why", "how", "when", "where"?
6. Reading is not your thing.
Because you don't understand the sheer existence of words and what it takes to write a whole book. It's good to live in the moment but caring less about history, geography, philosophy is as good as ignoring where you came from and where you're going.
7. There's no balance between your personal and professional life.
Work is work and home is home. It's the easiest way to live life. If you mix up the two, you create a vicious circle for yourself that is hard to escape for a long long time. Dating your boss and making your husband your boss - these ideas have never helped anyone.
8. You haven't learnt to handle the truth.
Instead of facing your fears and miseries, you're busy avoiding them. You still believe in the term, "Ignorance is bliss." whereas the truth is - even if reality isn't bliss, it's yours. Unless you accept your life's challenges and hardships, this lifetime will be a waste.
